Location

This position is based in Sabah.

  • To supervise and lead daily field operations by ensuring work aligns with company standards and plans
  • Plan and coordinate daily/weekly activities with contractors to meet targets
  • To comply with company SOPs, specifications, and contract requirements
  • Monitor performance, identify issues, and take corrective action to maintain quality and productivity
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets required standards
  • Review and verify contractors’ work progress and claims
  • Provide daily updates and escalate any issues to the Forester
  • Support budgeting, cost control, and resource planning
  • Oversee plantation activities such as slashing, planting, fertilizing, weeding, and pruning
  • Ensure proper documentation, valid work orders, and traceability of all operations
  • Manage and track operational materials, ensuring proper usage and returns
  • Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
  • Conduct toolbox briefings and provide on-site guidance and training
  • Ensure timely completion of work according to quality and safety standards
  • Support coordination of workers and team activities
  • Coach and develop team members to improve performance

Requirements

The following attributes would be an advantage:

  • Minimum SPM or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years relevant working experience in plantation or field operations.
  • Experience supervising field workers or contractors.
  • Knowledge of plantation establishment and silviculture practices.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Possession of a valid motorcycle driving license and able to ride off-road.
  • Able to work extensively in outdoor and remote field environments.
  • Good supervision, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Able to monitor work quality and operational progress effectively.
  • Physically fit and able to work in challenging terrain and weather conditions.
  • Motivated, disciplined, and team-oriented with a willingness to learn.
  • Able to work independently and support operational targets and timelines.

Location

This position is based in Sabah.

  • Support QC Checkers in field inspections and quality checks on plantation operations.
  • Assist with plot demarcation, baseline establishment, planting counts, fertiliser checks, and weed-free assessments.
  • Assist in monitoring plant survival, growth, and operational conditions.
  • Identify and report operational defects, non-compliance, or poor-quality work in the field.
  • Record field findings, measurements, and inspection results accurately.
  • Assist in verifying work completion and operational quality.
  • Monitor compliance with company procedures and operational requirements.
  • Maintain inspection records and reports properly.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and operational teams when required.
  • Follow company safety requirements and report unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with GPS data collection, site marking, and mapping verification where required.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of plantation operations and field activities.

  • Maintain camp buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas, including housekeeping and landscape upkeep.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, keys, and safety measures are properly managed.
  • Manage water supply for the camp and nursery to minimise wastage.
  • Maintain generators, lighting, drainage, and sanitation facilities.
  • Support minor construction, installation, and maintenance works within the camp.
  • Maintain tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Report assets requiring servicing or repair.
  • Support and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The following attributes would be an advantage:

  • Minimum SPM or equivalent.
  • Experience in maintenance, construction, camp operations, or related field work.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or mechanical repairs.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically fit and able to work in outdoor and remote camp environments.
  • Able to carry out general repair and maintenance works independently.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Responsible, practical, and safety-conscious.
  • Able to work well with camp personnel and operational teams.

  • Monitor road works to ensure they are carried out according to specifications, instructions, and timelines.
  • Check contractor compliance with statutory requirements and relevant regulations.
  • Conduct daily field inspections and prepare daily reports on road work progress and conditions.
  • Inspect roads, drains, culverts, and crossings regularly, and report any defects, safety hazards, or maintenance needs.
  • Assist in identifying access requirements for harvesting, planting, transport, and operations.
  • Carry out field measurements and basic site marking when required.
  • Maintain records of inspections, road conditions, and work progress.
  • Coordinate with operations teams on road accessibility and field conditions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in plantation, road work, or field operations.
  • Valid driving license and ability to drive 4WD vehicles.
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors and in remote areas.
  • Good observation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Able to identify and report road defects, drainage issues, and unsafe conditions.
  • Motivated, team-oriented, and willing to learn.
  • Minimum 1 year relevant working experience.
